Saturday 18th October - walk *** – Falkenham including a picnic with
‘Emily’ – cloudy.
The gloom continues with some drizzle but with more breeze today, maybe
enough to foil but I haven’t been for ages now and it was hard to find
the enthusiasm so after doing my exercises I packed a picnic and we drove
over to Falkennham Church to have it with ‘Emily’. We enjoyed the peace
and quiet with just the sound of the breeze rustling the leaves which were
gently falling to earth with the sound of buzzards overhead! We then
decided to do our inland circuit but going the other way, heading down the
Kirton Road first before turning down past the sewage works and not seeing
anyone during the whole of our walk! We saw lots of hedgerow birds and
heard the buzzards again which made for a pleasant afternoon, even managed
to spot the sun through a covering of cloud! Then home via the clifftop to
check the conditions, no foilers out but a kitesurfer was inn the car park
packing up! Hope to get out on the water tomorrow before the rain arrives
and looking wet and windy for most of the week!
PS - I was surprised when BBC's Look East used one of my older pics on the
evening weather forecast!
